Logan Cobras 1-0-6 vs Jindalee 1-2-8
A classic case of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. We kept the "Jaguars" scoreless for almost three quarters they kicked their goal in the last 5 minutes of the game. We had 5 forwards playing on the halfback line chasing kicks with no regard for the team . Each and every time we cleared from half back we were met by a wall of Jindalee players ready to thump it back into the 50 metre zone. Put it down to selfishness by some and inexperience by others. Apart from losing there were some good positives Josh Yates , Matt Coutlis,Mark Nolan and Shaun Charlton ran hard all game. Josh Coutlis was a very tough nut to break as a few opposition forwards found out. Jack Smith played his 50th game for the club and was rewarded with a pennant. Jass Hucks was well on top until injury forced him off. Better luck next week boys.

Logan 14 -7- 91 v Strathpine 4 -3- 27
The game shaped as an interesting contest as Strathpine had been elevated from
Division 3 after a couple of big wins and the Cobras had failed to consolidate
on a good start to the season by going down to Jindalee the
previous week. The first quarter set the pattern for the game with the Cobras
playing a physical brand of football and dominating in the hard ball contests.
All day Logan dominated in the centre and in the contests around the ground with solid work by Dan Finlay and Paul Hopkins in the ruck. The onballers George Robert, Adam "Rabbit" Rozynski, Ben Cream and Mark Gibbs benefited from the ruck dominance and had plenty of the leather. Rhys Thomas and Charlie Wellington dominated in their wing/on-ball positions and were creative with their disposal, always looking for the right options and to share the ball. Up forward Ian Riseley had height and weight on his Swans opponent and capitalised on the good work up the ground by taking regular "catches". He kicked truly to grab a seven goal bag and was well supported by small forward Peter Nolan who showed some glimpses of his ability and will improve once fully healthy. Todd Miller and Russell Lechner were also involved picking up whatever Ian or Peter didn't grab.
In defence Channon Harper, Shaun Perovic and Brad Collings set the tone
and intimidated the Strathpine forwards with their physical presence. Shane
ball and providing valuable run off the half back line. Justin Logan was as
disciplined as ever keeping his direct opponent virtually stat less. Matt stuck
to their normal "no frills" style of football. Overall a solid team
performance with all players contributing to a good win which consolidates
the Cobras in the top four.
Best Players: Rhys Thomas, Charlie Wellington, Ian Riseley, Channon Harper,
Adam Rozynski, Shane Millerd.
