This site is intended to provide basic information regarding Carcinoid Cancer & is maintained by Brett Watson & Michelle Vincent.
We hope you will find the information on Carcinoid Cancer helpful. It certainly isn't the be all & end all on this illness, but hopefully it will be a start & we plan to add to the information, so it will always be a "work in progress". We have also included links to other sites with useful & relevant information. Also the plan is to look to the brighter & lighter sides of life.
The information you find here is mostly from the efforts of people I have "met" via email who are in some way affected by Carcinoid Cancer. I want to thank those people for their information, friendship, thoughts and humour, & hope one day that I can meet you face to face.
Our Goal for this Website
Michelle & I had a lot of trouble finding correct information relating to Carcinoid in Australia when I was first diagnosed in 1999. There was a lot about, all mainly from the US & we were not sure what was right & what to ignore.
There were no "patient-friendly" sites in Australia, and I was asked by a few people to start an informational service for people who are affected by the Carcinoid illness.
Lately Carcinoid has been getting some recognition and had some mention in TV shows. Unfortunately they often get it wrong ,and some US Carcinoid friends informed me that the TV show Gray's Anatomy mentioned Carcinoid but not in a very accurate way. So there is a lot of inaccurate, misleading information out there.
The objectives of this website are to:

The information you find here will hopefully increase your knowledge of Carcinoid Cancer & help with your discussions with your medical practitioners.
