Drabble: The Right Touch

Written for the Weekly Drabble Challenge on Lifein1973 Friday 27 August 2010.  Prompt: "Rites of passage or less formally perhaps, major life events".

It was in the smoky atmosphere of the pub that Sam first felt it.  With Annie on his left and Gene on his right he was sure the brief touch on his thigh must've been Annie's.  However, before he could investigate, it was gone.

The second time it happened Annie was dancing, so the whole, stunning realization hit him full force.

As Sam Tyler turned to smile at Gene Hunt he realized three things: One - he was happy; two - he was horny as hell; and three - strangely, he'd come back to 1973 to fall for Gene Hunt, not Annie Cartwright.
