Drabble: Snapshot

Written for the Friday Drabble Challenge on Lifein1973 Friday 2 October 2009.  Prompt: Window.

Look through a kitchen window and what do you see?  A woman cooking?  A man cooking?  A man helping his wife?

Look through our kitchen window and you'll see two blokes.  That's me cooking on an antiquated cooker.  The other bloke is Gene Hunt and I'm teaching him how to cook.  Thought I was doing all right too until I had him chopping veg and he almost sliced his finger off.  He's since decided kitchens are more dangerous than the local scum.

Look closer and that's me ruffling his hair as we kiss.

Look again... but now the blind's down.
