Drabble: Cold

Gene Hunt first noticed it in the Collator's Den - Sam Tyler clutching himself, body shivering with cold, teeth chattering uncontrollably.  All Sam had said was "Cold."  That was the first time Gene had ever held him, rubbing his back until he stopped shaking like a leaf.

Since that day he'd witnessed it many times.  Now, if it happened when they were alone together, he would wrap his coat around Sam and rub his back while Sam shuddered in his arms, begging him to make him warm once more.

Gene Hunt made a vow that he'd always keep Sam Tyler warm.
