Written for the Friday Drabble Challenge on Lifein1973 Friday 13 February 2009.  Prompt: Bad luck and/or superstition.  This drabble has exactly 13 lines too.  Spooky....

"Watch out, Sam!  That's a black cat."

"So?"

"It's bad luck, especially on Black Friday."

"There's no such thing as Black Friday."

"You looked at the calendar today?"

"So it's Friday 13th, so what?  It's just another date on the calendar."

"No, it isn't.  It's Black Friday and having a black cat cross your path is bad luck."

"For heaven's sake, Guv, you're a modern man.  Why do you believe all that superstitious nonsense?"

"'Cause it's not nonsense."

"What's next - voodoo and black magic?  Zombies and witchcraft?"

"Nah, got me lucky rabbit's foot."

"Where?  In your pocket?"

"Nah.  Beside me."
