DISCLAIMER!

Games Workshop are the overlords of the entire Space Hulk, Space Crusade and Warhammer 40K Universe!

In no way are these unofficial rules a threat to their superiority, or a challenge to any of their copyrights or trademarks!

I humbly bow down and thank Games Workshop for creating the entire genre. Thankyou!

I make no profit at all by operating this website.

Most of these rules have been written or compiled by me (Terry Walters), although I can not take credit for all of them. Different websites gave me inspiration, and I did use some of their rules in their unaltered form. In no way do I intend to challenge the ownership of rules that other people have written. I have listed all of the websites that I borrowed from in my references. Thankyou to those people/websites.

Unless otherwise stated, all images on this website are my original images. Credit has been given to all the artists who painted the depicted figures. If no credit is listed for any painted figures, then the artist is unknown. I do not paint at all. All figures, game pieces and the contents of all images are mine, unless otherwise stated.

A HUGE debt of gratitude to my friend, Nicholas Trigg. Nick was around my place on a boiling hot Saturday, January, 2002. We played the day away and tested the early versions of the rules. Most were scribbled out on scrap paper so we could alter them as play-testing dictated. His Eldar Dire Avengers failed miserably... Thanks, mate!

Thanks to my small army of play-testers for the effort that they have collectively put into making this website as good as it can be. Each has contributed in some way or another so I shall list them in alphabetical order: Anman, Andrew Arnell, Tim Blackie, Craig Brogan, Luke Ellis, Aaron Guy, Tim Hearne, Andrew James, Christopher Liva, Duncan Moody, Nicholas Purchase, Keith Rogers, Richard Thomas, Luke Wilkinson, Adam Withoos and Luke Withoos.

These rules are compatible with Space Hulk 1st Edition, Deathwing, Genestealer, Campaigns Book and other White Dwarf articles from the 1st Edition era. It is assumed that you already know the existing rules. They are also compatible with models from the Space Crusade and Mission Dreadnought games, along with the floor tiles of Tyranid Attack/Advanced Space Crusade.

It took years of play-testing (up to June 29th 2002) to realise that more could be done with the basic rules. Once I knew how to create my homepage, the process of putting these rules online began.  These rules are always in a state of flux and are subject to change on occasion. I'm happy to release rules that are still in test phase, knowing that they will be subject to later alterations, if required. You may notice that some of the original rules have been changed slightly. These were considered decisions based on all of the play-testing and were introduced to maintain balance considering all of the new rules. Play-testing has shown that changing some official rules has enhanced the game for the better.

Most of all, have fun.

If you don’t like these rules, then don’t use them.

References:

Games Workshop provided all of the original rule books (mentioned above) that I used as a basis for my extended rules. Some of my tables are based directly from their tables. It was my intent to stay as close to the original format as possible. Thanks!

Codex Dark Eldar, Codex Necrons and Codex Tyranids by Games Workshop provided some descriptions of each respective force.

The Space Hulk Compilation web page ( http://home4.inet.tele.dk/l-hansen/sh-comp.html ) by Lars Wagner Hansen was a useful resource for extra Genestealer rules, miraculous survival, and an inspiration for the cyclone missile launcher rules. Thanks!

The Harlequins web page (http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Battlefield/3430/h-shulk.htm) by Dean Bass provided the basis for the Harlequin rules. Thanks! I sent an email to Dean, but there was no response.

An unofficial Harlequin Codex provided extra material for the Harlequins. I can not locate the source.

The Space Hulk Bible located at http://name.pcsii.com/~tstacy/spacehulk/ by sharp_monkey provided the rules for being surrounded in close assault. I liked them, thanks!
