I have long had dreams of building a 4x5 SLR......so this prototype is currently under review. The advantages are finally the
image is right side up, so I no longer have to stand on my head..... I don't have to worry about any parallax issues so I get perfect framing without fear of any cropping......and interchangable lenses are no
problem. It has bellows so awesome macro is also permissible. The main issue is still to be solved...getting the weight down from its current seven pounds, (although it's not really a hand holdable camera).
This is a classic case of Carl Zeiss meets Razzledog, so better keep checking in for updates on this rather exciting camera project that in my mind shows some potential.
It is fitted with a 'Razzlok' full
frame 4x5 back and a very sharp Rodenstock 210mm f5.6 Sironar N in a Copal 1 with focusing helical....... Ain't life great!
