Yesterday, May 12, 2005, we received our first order of ONE Group
products! First off, I was impressed because it took only 7 days
to arrive from the day I ordered them!
The products are packaged more elegantly in person than they show on the web site.
I tried the mouth wash first and realized this is different! I then noticed that the bottle says to add to water. It is strong but does a good job of freshening the breath. I noticed that it worked for a considerable amount of time. I tried the toothpaste (mint) later in the day and found it to leave my teeth smooth and clean. There is a definite aftertaste of bicarbonate of soda and mint but nothing unpleasant.
It was while using the Sunflower Body Wash that it hit me, these products are not for just cleaning and refreshing but they are actually feeding the skin!
The "star of the show" has to be the Intensive Body Cream! It absorbs rapidly into the skin and doesn't leave any oily residue. It left our skin smooth and soft for hours. It has a mild fragrance that we found different from the other more strongly scented lotions we have tried.
After trying all four items we ordered, I was very favorably impressed.

Then I first started using the products, I had a low-level eczema on my arms. At first, I only had the facial moisturiser, so I tried that on the patches, and it really reduced them to a point where they are hardly noticeable. Milk is superb. And as soon as I squeezed some onto my husband's
hand as well he wiped it over his face and said keenly, 'I'd like
some of that!' I have now found a Miessence product that I am
able to use on my face. I love its soft, smooth, creamy feel,
its fresh and attractive aroma, and a Miessence product that does
not irritate my face. The reason I am so overjoyed with this product
is that I had to stop using Miessence products on my face because
I developed a facial rash after using them for a few months. The
Skin Specialist agreed that there were no ingredients in the products

As a massage therapist my hands need

IN THE SHOWER?
(The Unbelievable Story of Propylene Glycol)
Used as a solvent, propylene glycol is probably THE most common ingredient found in personal-care items, such as make-up, hair products, lotions, after-shave, deodorants, mouthwashes, and toothpaste. (Check the labels of your favorite products!!) It is also the active component in antifreeze; and there is no difference between what's used in industry and what you apply to your skin! Industry uses it to break down protein and cellular structure (what the skin is made of); it's so strong that it can take barnacles off the bottom of boats.
But because it is so inexpensive, it is widely used in very high concentrations in most personal care formulations-even ones from "natural food" stores.
Fasten your seat belts folks, you won't believe what you are about to read:
Bob Folsom, a Field Hydrographer in the High Sierra Nevada mountains, has to work with propylene glycol on his job. Even though the PG is used in a solution of about 80% water, 20% PG and 1% mineral oil, there are rigid rules about how it must be disposed of, because it is considered so hazardous.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issues "Material Safety Data Sheets" that must accompany all hazardous chemicals. The data sheet for propylene glycol warns of severe health consequences and reactions, because PG has systemic consequences such as brain, liver, and kidney abnormalities.
(1) If the solution makes contact with the skin, immediate action must be taken, and the incident should be reported to the supervisor.
(2) If the solution spills on the ground, it must be contained and the contaminated earth dug up and hauled to a toxic waste dump.
When Bob is finished using the solution, he is required to empty it into a 55-gallon drum labeled "Hazardous Waste." While doing so, hemust wear rubber gloves, goggles, and protective clothing. When the barrel is full, it must be transported to a special collection site, and the driver of the truck is required to maintain a commercial driver's license with a "hazardous material endorsement." Improper paperwork or mishandling of this toxic solution can result in severe fines and even imprisonment. It costs between $500-$1,000 to get rid of each 55-gallon drum. Back to top
Yet when Bob gets off work and goes home, he is free to shower with soaps and shampoos and then use a stick deodorant containing much higher concentrations of propylene glycol than the toxic solution he just shipped to the dump. If it was so hazardous at work, why is it "safe" at home?

Chemicals from underarm deodorants and other cosmetics can build up inside the body, according to a recent study.
British researchers have found traces of chemicals called parabens in tissue taken from women with breast cancer. While there is no evidence parabens cause cancer, the scientists have called for the use of parabens to be reviewed.
The cosmetics industry insists the chemicals, which are used as preservatives and are approved for use by regulators, are safe.
Dr Philippa Darbre and colleagues at the University of Reading carried out tests on samples of 20 different human breast tumours. Their tests suggested the chemicals had seeped into the tissue after being applied to the skin.
"This is the first study to show their accumulation in human tissues," said Dr Darbre. "It demonstrates that if people are exposed to these chemicals, then the chemicals will accumulate in their bodies."
Writing in the Journal of Applied Toxicology,
they say they found traces of parabens in every sample.
"Parabens have a very, very good safety profile"
