Olympus E-PL1 Light Box on Review
The
double image side by side view on playback (page 61 of my manual) may
be handy for some situations but a few have found it greyed out when
trying to adjust it (Custom menu ► D Disp/Beep/PC ► Info Setting ► Info ► Lightbox ► On/Off).
It turns out that Close Up Mode needs to be Mode 2 to make it happen. (Custom menu ► D Disp/Beep/PC ► Close Up Mode ► Mode1/Mode 2). The Modes show this information when selecting them....
Mode 1 - Magnifier button "Zoom a picture"
Mode 2 - Magnifier Button "Display an enlargement frame and push again to enlarge a picture in it."
In
Mode 1 the magnifier button first press on review causes the focus
magnification box to appear together with the magnification ratio
selected, 2x, 3x, 5x, 7x, 10x, 14x, the second press of the magnifier
button shows that magnified view, the third press of the magnifier
button causes the image number to appear in the bottom right corner.
From now on using the left/right buttons takes you back and forwards
through the images but at the selected magnification and the same
position in the frame for each image. Press the magnifier button again
and the 4 arrows appear again so the direction buttons now move the
view frame around the image. To change the magnification setting, use
the INFO button, then up/down to change the magnification, then press
INFO again to store it. The Fn button causes the display to go back to
1x review of the image.
In Mode 1 the magnifier button on review just keeps increasing the magnification, again the range is 2x, 3x, 5x, 7x, 10x, 14x. There
is no way to move from image to image unless you go back to the
1x display by repeatedly pressing the Fn button or press START/OK to go
directly back to 1x display, then you can change the image using the
left/right buttons.
