Reunion 2012

As promised some of the Fort Street OC class of 1952/53 did manage to meet again in 2012 for what would be a joint 70th birthday, but nobody really needed to know that. Some have already reached 70, some not yet. More to the point, the week after this meeting would make it 60 years since we tots all started at Fort Street.

The venue this time was the Kirribilli Club overlooking Lavender Bay and the trees of Observatory Hill could be seen with the school lost somewhere behind them. Nice food and service but it was a noisy, echoey venue and some found it hard to converse at times.

Thirteen plus four partners turned up.

A good rollup, considering many have other duties that still keep them either working or very occupied. Apologies from many and we were pleased to get a phone call that night from Valerie, a little upset that she could not be with us, but that's understandable. Don't worry Valerie, we do talk about you, you are definitely not forgotten.

So far I have not heard of any new items of interest to arise from the meeting, mostly seemed to be people comparing notes about present and past, probably also swapping medical histories, but that's common at our age!

Interest in the trams was raised by John Fullagar and that has made me make a temporary trams page which will stay unlinked until I add more to the page with notes about all the forms of transport we used to use, plus get permissions for copyrighted photos.
