Ireland and UK Holiday 2015, 9th JunePick up car, to Crawley
A driving day, not far to go from picking up the car in Edgware to the hotel in Crawley but that London traffic, so bad, so congested, averaged a slow jogging pace for more than 2 hours through it. Car is some Peugeot diesel thing, seats quite comfortable, lots of buttons and knobs and no manual to sort it out, fun. Found the hotel then went to East Grinstead not far away to check that end of the Bluebell Railway, and then seek out a decent map book to help with the constant battle with the stupid SatNav thing.  Then to our hotel in Crawley, out in the sticks a bit, very quiet here.......  The car that got us here, viewed from the hotel window.....  Nice shiny restored loco on the Bluebell Railway at East Grinstead station.....  In East Grinstead main street, could be anywhere in England......  |
