Ireland and UK Holiday 2015, 20th May

Lyn and Guy leave Australia .

A basic getting started day, tidying up loose ends at home, remembering to put the cat out, then remembering that we don't have a cat to put out and so on. Our neighbour Pam kindly gave us a lift to Berowra station and from there it was all plain sailing getting to the airport and catching the plane. This time Etihad to Abu Dhabi about 14.5 hours then 3 hours wait there for the next flight to Dublin.

We had read all sorts of bad reviews about Etihad but I guess all reviews come from the complainers in this world and the good reviews never make it to be seen. All in all, good flight, everything worked as it should and the attendants did what they do when they should do it. Food was good the choices good.

The only complaint is the usual one, that in our quest for cheap travel we go tourist class and no tourist class seats are designed for human comfort. The idea is to make the seats so bad and cramped that next time you will resolve to fly business class and give them much more money for doing so.

I'm not sure when and where this day finished but was probably in the air over the Indian Ocean.

Lyn at Berowra Station......

Flight path to Abu Dhabi........

The actual flight was different to this just starting shot, the plane went down towards Melbourne then swung deep out over the Great Australian Bight then clipped the bottom bit of West Australia crossing a bit above Perth and then followed much the same as above. Long sector 14.5 hours or so, very painful.
