With all the discussion of late on digital cameras, I submit
the following in the absence of a Mel Foux web site.
The picture was taken by Mel at the recent users meeting with
a Canon 1.6 megapixel model Pro 70. Hand held,
no flash and exposure of 1/10 sec at f2.2 (just like desperate times
with a 1961 Pentax). The ability to handle such
an exposure range is quite extraordinary. Note the desk lamp and the
shadow detail.
Two old DataCad grunts, Nick Pyner (front) and Ric Forster (rear)
try to pursuade one of Mel's two monitors
to run on Nick's computer - without freezing the mouse. This is in
Mel's office with his flashy two monitor installation
run by a Matrox G400. (Note his well prioritised speaker
installation.)
