Teaching Notes

Creating mandalas provides students with not only an opportunity to appreciate and learn about a very peace oriented religion but also they can begin to understand the power of united thought by undertaking this task. When everyone focusses upon the same outcome, then the motivation to achieve the intended goal is certainly increased many fold.

What actually is presented on the mandala truly doesn't matter as long as it presents a positive image of the world, its landscape, its creatures or people begin at peace with each other.

A template for the mandalas used by the Pulteney students was supplied by Jenny Funston, International Department - Byakko Shinko Kai - World Peace Prayer Society
