Teaching Notes Many games and toys which are available to buy only re-inforce some very negative behaviours. This activity will begin some deeper thinking by students about the toys they enjoy playing with and the reasons why they like particular ones. Our commercialised world certainly dictates much of the thinking of our young people and perhaps this activity can also reveal the manipulation occurring and an assessment of its appropriateness be discussed. But this activity also invites some inventive thinking by students to create a game that does promote positive behaviours by utilising the present commercial world processes...and encourages the development a new ethic to be considered as the basis for its operation...and hopefully some sensible future buying by our young people. |
