Everyday Miracles

Little miracles happen everyday...

...but sometimes we are so busy we miss them.

What are miracles ??

Perhaps miracles are simply those special everyday things that happen...the simple things that make us smile, or even shed a tear.....or laugh loudly. They are the simple things that remind us we are all human.

Keep your eyes open and watch out for these everyday miracles and write them down for others to share and enjoy.

The other day, while stopping at a community centre for coffee, a lady in a wheel chair was positioned by her husband at a table in front of me. Both looked weary and uneasy about her obvious illness. Leaving her briefly he returned with a pie on a plate and a sauce bottle which he happened to squeeze and carefully drew a smile on the top of the pie. As he did so she laughed and awkwardly leaned forward to hug him. He grabbed her arm and together they stared into each other’s eyes seemingly grateful for the precious moments they were still able to share with each other. For me, the innocent observer, who was privileged to share in their joy, my only visible response was tears…but they also were overwhelming tears of gratitude.

Our days are full of such miracles and often we don’t bother to find the moment to stop and enjoy and celebrate them together.

These precious everyday miracles can be recorded as pictures or drawings (even cartoons), or written up, then presented to community newspapers or merely shared with classmates and parents.
