Construction, testing and commissioning of three sewage wastewater treatment plants. The augmented treatment plants will use Biological Nutrient Removal technology to reduce nitrogen and phosphorus and include chemical dosing to meet requirements. Works at the three plants will include the following: Inlet works, oxidation ditch/bioreactor, two secondary clarifiers, pump station, chlorine detention tank and chlorination system, control/amenities building, hydraulic structures, chemical storage and dosing facilities, pipework, earthworks, roads and landscaping.

Design and construction of a 2400mm diameter by 120m long pipe jack tunnel including fitout with stainless steel cable support brackets. Construction of a deep cable pit, with stainless steel access ladders and platforms, to provide access to the tunnel. The tunnel is located beneath railway lines and roads and has strict settlement and environmental monitoring requirements.

COTTER TUNNEL NO 3 STABILISATION

The project consists of the stabilisation of an existing tunnel by filling with concrete and cement grout to protect an existing watermain that is within the tunnel. This requires inspection and stabilisation of the 2.1m tunnel to allow the concrete to be placed in stages followed by grouting to fill the remaining voids. The work will be carried out in land managed by Parks, Conservation and Land which is environmentally sensitive.

The Skywalk Bridge consists of reinforced concrete pile foundations and abutments with a fabricated steel frame superstructure topped by a hardwood timber deck. The suspended slab is a reinforced concrete slab on piled foundations.

DENDROBIUM MINE SHAFTS 2 & 3

The two shafts are to be bored at 4m and 5m diameter respectively and to 270m deep. The shafts will be blind bored from the surface and lined using remote methods. The shafts will be completed prior to the underground tunnels reaching the location of the shaft bottom. Design and construction of 12km access road, bridges, precast yard, site compound, filtration/settling dams, ventilation shaft collars and presinks. Construction of site fencing, switchyard footings and foundations, ventilation fan footings, and provision of water supply from Cordeaux Dam. Construction of 174 composite liners, up to 5.5m diameter, including welding of steel sections and casting of concrete lining.
