Safety & Instruction
Course. Safety and Western Action Instruction Course held last
Sunday morning at the Sackville Range. The rifle instructions being demonstrated in the
foreground, the shotgun to the middle group, and pistol to
the far background, with all three groups rotating
through.
Pistol
Instruction. "Mister Skye" giving helpful hints on quick drawing,
aiming, firing and re-cocking with the cross-draw. Safety First! Empty guns around.
Rapid Fire
demo. "Mister Skye" demonstrating a quick cross-draw, aim, and
rapid firing with a single-action pistol. You bring the sights up and fire, not bring them down
onto the target and firing like in target shooting.
"Lonesome
Dove". "Lonesome Dove" giving further instructions with a
cross-draw with a single-action six-gun.
"Lonesome Dove" #2. Special precautions have to be strictly enforced with
cross-drawing, as the gun leaves the holster pointing back
into the spectators unless done correctly. An official stands directly behind the firer and only one
firer is on the range at a time.

#3. Firearms are checked by officials at a special loaders
bench, and also when the firer has finished the round, at
the clearing table, before firearms are allowed off the
front line.
Pistol quick draw
