Why as an IT professional I cannot recommend Dell hardware
- The Phone support is atrocious.
- I have had to repeat my name several times when calling Dell.
- On hold times often 20 minutes.
- Having to spell my last name (which really isn't that hard) several million times.
- In the XPS line of hardware there is a known bug whereby the video card will corrupt the screen an you'll need to log a call with dell to get it fixed. This known issue affects the M1710, M1730 range and I know I've had to log at least 3 calls for it in the last 2 months.
- Dell support are located overseas which means the quality of the line to the support centre is often only just rated above a tin can and wire.
- Dell service agents whom take all your details and then listen to your problem only to reply with "sorry sir this isn't my department" and then put you back in the end of the phone queue without handing your details over to the next service agent whom often replies " this isn't my department again".
Oh let me count the ways, I do not look forward to calling Dell Hell.
