SERVICES I AM ABLE TO PROVIDE.

-         Fieldwork and cartography: To ensure accuracy particularly with point locations GPS technology is utilized. This can now provide accuracy of 5-10m in most conditions. For areas not previously mapped photogrammetry and a recent ortho-corrected digital colour photograph is desirable. Where the area is being re-mapped the latter is usually sufficient providing the original photogrammetry was of a high standard

-         Cartography from fieldwork notes: In this situation particularly where more than one fieldworker is involved it is recommended that field checking across the map be carried out by one person to ensure consistency across the map.

-         Converting existing maps to OCAD: This involves tracing from the original map and incorporating any updated information (e.g. new tracks, fences etc). Digital photogrammetry of at least the contours makes this easier (& hence cheaper) as it can be imported directed into OCAD considerably reducing tracing time.

-    Geo-referencing of existing or new maps.

-         Providing high quality draft prints up to A3: At any stage of the process using a local printing facility

-         The final product: can be produced as an OCAD file, EPS file and/or a high quality print.  Direct printing from a file produces the best results. Other file formats include BMP, PDF,JPG, GIF, AI, DXF, WMF or EMF. Garmin Custom maps can also be produced form new or existing maps providing they are geo-referenced.

COSTS

Cost depends on the complexity of the area and the quality of the photogrammetry (or original map) provided. I would be prepared to give a firm quotation after an initial assessment of the area involved. As I am input taxed no GST is charged on these services.
