Alternate M/E Outputs
In installations where your button mapping is expected to remain reasonably static, keep a few buttons at one end free. These few buttons might be the only ones that change according to program needs.
For example, you might like to map the B output of an M/E (so you don't have to "Shift" to select it).
If you want the A and B outputs of a split M/E next to each other (for convenience), remember that you can't put the A outputs on the Unshifted side (they are already there, at the right-hand-end). But you can put the C output (with the same Keys enabled) on the Unshifted side.
Out of habit, we often put the same button mapping on each M/E. But if you map Alternate M/E outputs to the PP row, you'll find this is just dumb. Why? Because if you map (for example) M2D on all rows, you won't be able to select this Source on M/E2. So why bother mapping it on M/E2? It doesn't make sense. So, you could use these buttons on M/E2 (for example) for Macro Attachments. Or you could map the other M/E's Alternate Outputs, putting M1C on M/E2, on the same button position as you've put M2C on M/E1.
