Where do I find the GPI IN menu?
It's often confusing when you first start out, trying to remember which menu to go to for various things. For example, why can't I find the "GPI In" settings when I go to the GPI menu?
Let's just think about that for a moment. When the Kalypso receives a GPI IN, the Kalypso can either:
  • 1.Do nothing;
  • 2.Run the Current Effect;
  • 3.Trigger a Transition;
  • 4.Recall a Macro;
  • 5.Recall an E-Mem;
  • 6.Select a Source on a buss.
It's these last few options that cause the menu to be put under Suite Prefs.

If a GPI can change the Source on an Aux buss, it can potentially affect another user's operation. Since Suite Prefs are things that affect more than one user, it becomes the logical place to put this menu. So think of this when you're wondering what menu to look under.

Then again, it's always possible that the software design team was having a bad day.
