Video Settings
Switching the "Video Settings" preference between 16:9 and 4:3 does more than simply change the shape of a circle wipe.
Many parameters are dependent on the geometry of the "world view" that this button dictates. Wipes, as I've mentioned, are most obvious. And rotating a Transform Engine in Z-Space will cause the box to Skew into a parallelogram as it spins. The size/position of masks will be affected - in fact the setting affects literally anything that moves.
In 4:3 mode, there are 8 units across the screen, and 6 units down (0,0 is in the centre). In this world, a Transform Engine which is moved 8 units to the left will be positioned off the screen. In 16:9 mode, there are 32 units across and 18 units down. The same Transform Engine (if you simply changed modes) will still be -8 units from the centre, but this is only one quarter of the way towards the edge of frame. For this reason, you must be in the correct video mode before you begin programming E-Mems. You can't use the same E-Mem for both a 16:9 show and a 4:3 show (if it contains anything reliant on geometry).
There is currently no way to "convert" an E-Mem to use the other mode's coordinate system, though I wish there was. For more items on my Wishlist, visit the appropriate page.

Wouldn't this be nice?
