The Default Keyframe
The "Default Keyframe" represents what will be used when the "Clear WkBfr" button is pressed, as well as for some "Center/Detent" button operations. You can change these defaults to better suit your needs.
For example, the default size/position of the keyer Box Mask could - and should - be made bigger, or the default keying mode for a Source could be set to a Chromakey.
Changing the defaults can also be a trap, so the menu also provides a way to reset back to factory defaults. One trap that I've seen is Learning a new default when a Transform Engine had been used on a keyer. The result was that the "Center" (ie, normal) size and location for a keyer's TE was a reduced offset cropped box.
Another useful change can be made to the hue/brightness of various mattes, instead of them all being hue:0 sat:50 bright:50. I know one person who made the matte fills for all "Key 1"s a shade of grey, the "Key 2"s a shade of green, the "Key3"s a shade of cyan, and the "Key4"s a shade of magenta, simply to match the button colours. If he ever needed to identify which keyer a source was on, he could delegate all keyers simultaneously (using the M/E Keyer Delegation Button Group), and the colour would instantly remind him where it was keyed. (Incidently, it's "Mulberry", not magenta; "Blueberry", not cyan; "Kiwi Fruit", not green; and "Coconut", not white. They don't call it "Kalypso" for nothing.)
