Multi Suite Mode
Even if you have only one Suite (eg a studio control room) in operation, consider configuring your Kalypso in Multi Suite mode.
Multi Suite mode gives the ability to "acquire" a physical M/E (any of the four cards in the Kalypso frame) and assign it for use as a logical M/E. If a hardware fault developed in the PP card, you could acquire the M/E1 card and use it as PP, without the need to physically swap boards.
Multi Suite mode also gives an added layer of security in preventing Kalypso network access to any device not specifically listed.
In offering this idea, I am not in any way suggesting that M/E boards are prone to failure.
