Re-Entries
Loop an output from the Kalypso directly back as an input. Configure this output so it is fed from an Aux buss.
In this way, you can take the secondary output of a split M/E (say a chromakey composite) and use it as a source on the primary partition (one side of a "double-boxes" composite). You could also take a blurred Transform Engine and re-enter it through a second Transform to provide double the blur. (See
Effects for an application of Wide Range Defocus.)
Why?
Ordinarily, the Kalypso inhibits re-entry of the Secondary Partition back into the Primary Partition on the same M/E due to timing restrictions (as at version 11 software). A physical re-entry loop-back helps make the separate outputs of a split M/E truly into mini-M/Es. Note: This re-entry will introduce about one line of delay, and tallies will not work as expected.
