Creating Static Montages with the Transform Engine
Use a Still Store input/output and a keyer to create Recursive effects such as Montage.
- In the Still Store Menu, select SS1, then choose “Show Input”. Vision is now live through the Still Store.
- Select M1A (M/E 1's Primary output) as the input to the Still Store.
- Key your source via a Transform Engine on keyer 1, but leave the keyer "off" (ie, not keying).
- Put the background image on the M/E 1 A-Background. When the desired background image appears, cut to SS1 on M/E 1 A-Background. This will capture the background image into the Still Store. At this point you can press "Grab Video" in the Still Store to keep the video image.
- Now turn on Keyer 1. You can fly the Keyer 1 TE around as desired. Wherever you want to "stamp" the TE, press "Grab Video" on the Still Store. The current location/size etc of the TE will be overlaid on whatever was previously there. In this way, you can build up a static montage image.
The “drop” cannot be Timelined in an E-Mem, but it can be triggered within a Macro with appropriate Pauses.
