How to do some of those complicated effects you've been dreaming about

Producing a Bevelled Edge on a Transform Engine

This is a variation on the above "Preset Pattern Border" edge. I'll assume M/E1 Keyer 1.
  • Set up the rectangular Keyer Wipe (as above) with a Preset Pattern.
  • In the Wipe Menu, add a border to the M/E1 Key1 Keyer Wipe. (Note this is not the Keyer Border.) Adjust the Keyer Wipe Aspect and Keyer Size so the border reaches the edge of the frame.
  • While in that Menu, select the "X" pattern for M/E1 Complex Wipe 2 (the wipe 4 across and 4 down in the selection grid).
  • The Preset Pattern Border colour can be changed from the Mattes Menu (for example, "Matte | M/E1 | Key1 | Border | Base Fill") or from the panel. I'll assume from the Menu.
  • In the "Matte | M/E1 | Key1 | Border | Wash Control" Menu, select Complex Wipe 2 as the Wash Source.
  • Set a different colour for the "Wash Color" for Key 1.
  • Adjust the aspect of Wipe 2 so the wipe edges correspond to the corners of your Transform Engine. This allows for a range of aspect ratios on the TE.
  • Adjust the Base Colour and Wash Colour to be similar in hue/sat but different luminance (or colours as desired).
