The Best Getting Better

Additional Services

Press Release Service

  • If you have developed a great product or service and are now ready to release it to the market a press release is a great way to engage and inform the media and web users about it. The great thing about an internet press release is that even if it is not picked up by a media outlet (and it will rarely do that to be frank) it will still be seen by web users because all the press release services are spidered by the major search engines. For an example of that, please type in Google - Gilbert Labour Press Release.

  • For your press release I will need an outline of the goals you are trying to achieve with your marketing campaign (an internet press release is only part of your overall marketing strategy). I will need product or service information including detailed technical specifications if applicable. I will also need your overall business and personal goals and how this product/service relates to it. For examples of press release written by me check out Latest Media Releases.

  • The cost of writing your press release to your satisfaction and then releasing it is US $500. Your sole role will be to give editorial approval to your material. I will organise the mechanics of engaging the major press release services on the internet and releasing your press release when you say so. My turn-around time is 48 hours on receipt of your product or service material and company and personal information. All this is required to go into the mix to write a compelling, interesting and newsworthy press release, which is quite an art form.

  • Payment will consist of US $250 on receipt of your material and the balance on release of your press release. I reserve the right not to accept your work if your promotional material or content about your product or service is considered by me objectionable, defamatory or otherwise questionable.

Executive Coaching Retreat in Mauritius in June 2005

  • Details of the Retreat are available at Executive Coaching Retreat details. The retreat will have a number of working sessions and themes which are currently being worked out. These will be tailored when working with individual EXECs and their companies. The following will form the core themes of the retreat.

Maximising Corporate Performance using Executive Coaching Strategies

  • Executive Coaching Theme 1. Exposure to world economic conditions such as the rising price of oil and the flow on affects on the economy and the resulting slowing of overall demand. How to react quickly and in the future predict these changing economic conditions by brilliant product lifecycle strategies (not just financial wizardry which can only go so far). When the oil price reaches US $250 a barrel will it then make sense to buy your own oil well? Can you develop products that don't use oil? Think industry verticals but also think industry horizontals. American brands overseas particularly in Europe are on the nose for a number of reasons including Kyoto and the war in Iraq. This bruising of American brands - is that an opportunity for your company? What is the window of opportunity? Have your internal people already picked up this trend? Think outside the square.

  • Executive Coaching Theme 2. Managing innovation and technology not only as it affects product and services but most importantly how it affects the market especially the youth market. Not just harnessing innovation but creating a pool of talent that will create/invent innovation and bring down the cost of innovation to you. Your company needs to employ 5 geniuses to come up with the product ideas of the next 5-10 years. This is about turning your products and services into cultural and youth icons. This theme covers a number of areas - innovation product development and brilliant marketing, there is and should be no order for what follows what.

  • Executive Coaching Theme 3. Developing outstanding standalone small businesses from your successful divisions and units. Form elite business units that can easily detach from the main lumbering organisation and that will not only tender and easily win the internal business but the can be a gorilla in the market place and muscle in on the business of its competitors. This is a huge ask but one that is essential for a conglomerate that will survive by creating the future.

  • Executive Coaching Theme 4. This theme will focus on the Indian outsourcing success story and the lessons learnt for visionaries and leaders willing and open to listening, understanding and learning. We will focus on outsourcing and resourcing generally but especially IT outsourcing and resourcing. How will technology as it develops over the next 5 to 10 years affect how you do business? For example with wireless technology and wireless broadband do you need massive expensive infra-structure, do you need huge and expensive buildings permanently, does every person in the organisation need a fixed office space and chair and computer that they come to everyday, is the grid office layout still a useful one, with the internet developing the way it is - do you need a massive system and application architecture, with devolution into a myriad of smaller businesses do you need corporate head offices, will a large approach to IT still be applicable in 20 years time? Indian outsourcing is going gangbusters right now. Being in Mauritius will give us a chance to understand the culture that is creating this outsourcing powerhouse. Is this a force to be utilised or fought?

  • Executive Coaching Theme 5. Process Improvement generally. Covers a myriad of subjects and areas. Is the organisational model currently in place still applicable? What is a better organisational model? Is the army model still applicable more or less? What will the best organisation in the world in 2025 look like organisationally? Will your organisation be that one? There is so much talk (and not much action) about this topic that it needs to be looked from a fresh point of view. To place this problem in context I read the following quote recently in relation to a large organisation in trouble it "…did not achieve a range of cost reduction targets set earlier in the year". Now why was that so? Unions too tough? EXECs not tough enough? We'll explore this theme in some detail. It will also cover industrial relations as it must when dealing with people and fundamental change.

Preventing Corporate Burnout using Life Coaching Strategies

  • Life Coaching Theme 1. Is there two of you? One who comes to work daily and does his/her thing and another person who goes home and puts on another hat and never the twain shall meet? Looking at approaches to life coaching that offer a more holistic approach to understanding happiness and contentment and its key relationship to driving peak performance. Understanding your self-talk - what is the tenor of this dialogue? What keeps the self talk in motion?

  • Life Coaching Theme 2. Understanding your current personal and work relationships. What is your modus operandi? Do you have a strategy? What is currently working and what is not? How to develop and apply a strategy that will apply to everybody you meet in every situation personal and work.

  • Life Coaching Theme 3. What are your life's goals? Do they intersect neatly with your corporate goals or are you at risk of burn-out when you suddenly realise the two are diverging. How to bring two diverging goals into parallel with one supporting the other seamlessly.

  • Life Coaching Theme 4. Understanding and controlling your anger, frustration, stress and indifference as and when it occurs in between periods of calm and astonishing accomplishments. I will presume this is the case and it is not a case of chaos interrupted by moments of accomplishments. In any case where there is negative thinking, what are the precursors of this negativity? How can you beat it? Is it even harder work? Is it distraction? Is it finding a hobby? Is it using alcohol to excess?

  • Life Coaching Theme 5. Preparing the personal platform for peak performance. Topics to be covered include exercise, diet, fitness, weight loss, alcohol and drug abuse. How to build the platform for performance from scratch or rebuild it if it has been damaged or neglected? There is no reason not to have a firm, toned and hard body that rocks. Reaching this goal on its own will make the whole program worthwhile besides its key contribution to creating the platform for peak performance.

    General Information

  • I also do a small amount of pro-bono work in the area of life coaching. I belong to the Life Coaching Pro Bono Group (LCPBG), a group of life coaches I am putting together to do this type of work for people in need but who may not be able to afford the services of a full fee life coach. We make allowances for your circumstances and also on the understanding that once you're back on your feet, your capacity to contribute to your life coaching will also improve.

Generally speaking, we will set clear goals, we will put in place plans to attain those goals, we will execute the plan effectively. We will monitor and survey the results and ensure our goals are met. In most cases, we will envelope what we are trying to achieve into a coaching programme.

I operate flexibly taking into account the needs of the client as we progress with the programme.
