Tiger Madness? I think the current whirlwind of bad publicity around Tiger Woods is justified
but really the question to be asked is was he more guilty of hubris than infidelity? Hubris is defined as "overweening pride,
haughtiness, or arrogance, often resulting in fatal retribution". In my view I think he thought he was indestructible, untouchable,
all conquering and invincible. He could have sex with whoever he pleased whenever he pleased whatever the circumstances. Basically
he was in a sports car (no pun intended) travelling at 200 mph and loving every second until the (final) crash. Perhaps
knowing the crash would come, perhaps not but nonetheless living a life full of adrenalin rushes (in essence what fuels
serial infidelity). Perhaps not knowing that the highs have to be paid for with what he is currently experiencing - the lows.
Probably the only issues for him apart from the destruction of his family life and the trust destroyed is if he has fallen
for one of these women. If he is in love with one of these women what he will be feeling right now is the most exquisite
pain possible. Knowing he has to preserve his home life for the sake of his career yet being denied the love of the woman
he craves for in so doing. In other words he gets the worst of both worlds. He has to stay married to someone he may nor
may not love (this may change in the future from one to the other) and be away from the woman who he surely loves right now.
That is, he is going through hell for no reason. It is ok going through hell side by side someone you love but going through
hell with someone you don't love is sheer unadulterated agony (it's probably preferable to go through hell alone). How he
manages this nadir in his stakes will be dependent on where he sees himself in the future. Right now he is in a field of pain
so cannot think clearly. The key thing is how he will overcome this. That will be a sign of his growth and lessening of his
dependence on his father, who provided a strong moral compass.
Nowhere to go nowhere to hide The western world is awash with fathers with 12 year old sons who think they can make it big in Europe in football. So many that many people make a living from it from organisations down to individuals. They are like scavengers on the carcass of a whale because so few boys make it. The whole industry/business is a fraud but one fathers
are happy to live with for the merest wisp of a chance.
What is love? I like this quotation. I'm not sure it's about love but it is about something I can relate to: 'When I lie in bed at night I think of you lying on top of me. Close to me hearing your heart bleed. Both my arms are around you holding you tight. My duty is to you. You are my lord and master. It has not escaped me that for one reason or another our families are no longer friends but this is what makes this love unthinkable. You're supposed to hate me and I you but I love you deeper than the deepest oceans.
I am only wondering when this love will turn back into hatred. It always does.'

If you have money in a super fund in Australia, get it out right now, immediately urgently. Create your own super fund and put it in there. until the dust settles then reenter the market. I foolishly left my super in a well known super fund in Australia which went from $121k in 31/12/07 to $81k in 16/12/08. A life as a work of genius. My father Raymond was a literary giant in Mauritius in the 1960s. Along with Jean-Georges Prosper, Joseph Tsang Mang Kin, Andre Masson, Emanuelle Juste, Edouard Maunick. His work was not about things in particular but the underlying machinations and themes underlying things. The subterranean fabric was his playground and he used himself as the student in the playground. He used his own feelings, past and understandings
as a palette from which to extract the universal and transversal in all of us. My father knew de Chazal but his (Raymond's) work is not as structured and technical as de Chazal's. Raymond's work is more about the thoughts and ideas of what matters deeply to most of us. De Chazal does this but hangs it around an almost scientific structure using concepts from science to make his point.
